6 Months Old

Yesterday I was in the mood to try getting some pictures of Lucky. She is about 6 months old and we have really enjoyed her.
She is definately MY cat !!! She likes Myron BUT she wants to always "play" rough with him! ( I think that has something to do with the fact that HE plays rough with her...ALTHOUGH his "playing rough" DOESN'T involve sharp little teeth and claws !!!)
She spends most of her "inside" time sleeping( on my lap, right next to me, on the bed or in a chair, fairly close) Myron just can't get over how much she sleeps inside. He calls her "BUM"!
I think yesterday I may have figured out WHY she sleeps so much inside.
When I took her outside to get some pictures, she was SO jumpy !! Any time ANYTHING moved or there was ANY noise (this is OUTSIDE mind you !!) she jumped and was watching and didn't relax at all. If she spends all her time outside, that nervous and jumpy....she HAS to be exhausted by the time she comes inside! She definately is on the wild side naturally( her mother taught her well) but I thought she was getting over it until I saw her yesterday. She can still be a little nervous when she is inside but most of the time she's not. She definately has captured my heart....Spastic OR not :O) here are a few of the pics I got yesterday. They are NOT near as good as the ones last fall! But here they are.... AND BOY has she GROWN !!!
LOVE these eyes

Sometimes Things Just DON'T Turn Out The Way You Plan !

This morning I was so excited, I was going to get my first batch of homemade fruit roll-ups going!(You know how you feel when you are making something from scratch and you are so excited to be making something special!! I was invisioning taking some to church Wed.night and giving them to my grandsons who would be SOOOO thrilled at the thought that GRANDMA made them !!)
Things started out beautifully! I was also excited to share it with you.....

Just look how nice they look :O)
Two trays turned out great.... two stuck pretty bad and yet they were brittle if that area was dry... the instructions said to turn them over and let them dry a little longer (and the very middle was still not firm SO... I thought okay... this makes sense)
I turned them over for about another 20 minutes......
And my fruit roll-ups became "fruit CHIPS"!! They just got so brittle...SO...We WILL try again....
Anyone out there ever successfully made fruit roll ups and have ANY words of wisdom for me BEFORE I try again???
OH...by the way....
THEY ARE REALLY GOOD !!! :O)

Zucchini Snacks

I am always trying to find healthy snacks for Myron and I and I had the idea for this a couple of weeks and I just kept working on it and today I was finally pretty happy with the results. This little gadget is really a LOT of fun. A friend loaned it to me for a few days and I have been buying zucchini and spiraling away !!! It is called a veggie spiral cutter. There are three different cutting blade sizes. I have used ALL of them!! The first one seemed perfect until I dehydrated them... They started out about the size of curly fries and ended up about the size of "sprouts" !!!!! :O(
Last night I tried the next size.... STILL too small. Today I tried this one and as you can see from the last few pictures they are still pretty small, but I decided to "pile" the spirals up and that really did work pretty well.

After cutting them I tossed them with some olive oil and herbs.

Looking forward to having a lot of zucchini in my garden this year so I can stay ahead of Myron's snacking with these :O)

Am I Deprived?

NOT AT ALL !!! I am completely enjoying my almost completely Raw lifestyle! BUT... Today I especially DON'T feel like I am !!! I just made this incredible Dark chocolate that melts in your mouth! It is SO healthy for you too. NO guilt chocolate! You CAN'T get any better than that !!! :O)

Ingredients:

- Half a cup cacao butter (melted amount)

- Half a cup cacao powder, sifted

- 2 T agave nectar

- 1/4 cup goji berries

- 1/4 cup almonds, chopped coarsely

Directions:

- On a 7" plate (you can use the bottom of a springform pan or I even used a muffin tin), arrange the almonds and goji berries so they are uniform.

- Mix the cacao butter, powder and agave nectar until smooth. Pour gently over the berries and almonds, until uniformly covered.

- Place the plate in the freezer for the chocolate to firm up, about 15 minutes.

Sunday Entertainment ! :O)

You will just have to pardon me for posting yet another couple of videos of the Sunday entertainment in Spanish nursery! You may be asking" Is this the only child in the nursery??" No... But right now he is the one at the most entertaining age...

Another question you may be asking " Is Nana (that's me) caring for the children OR taking pictures???" My answer is BOTH ! If it is a quiet time where all the toddlers are playing nicely and the babies are happy I tend to pull out the camera. IF they are not, the camera gets left in the bag. We always have atleast two workers too, so I really am NOT shirking my job:O)

The ladies in this video are Isai's sister and mom

This 13 mo. old knows where his shoes are supposed to be ! What an adorable little guy!

Building Moving Post

A couple of weeks ago I was getting ready to post pictures of a building being moved in Washington. I got all the pictures on the post and was waiting for Myron to give me all the details so I saved it in my "Drafts"... Well today I posted it and couldn't find it.... I LEARNED that if you save it in your drafts.... It saves it in the date that you put it there... SO the new post is a few posts down from here. Sorry about that.... NOW I KNOW !! Live and LEARN:O) Hope you enjoy it :O)

Company :O)

Yesterday morning Aaron called and was going to be in the neighborhood. He wanted to know if the coffee was on.
It wasn't BUT it sure didn't take very long to get it ready! What a nice time we had.
He also brought my grand dog, Zip with him. SO good to see them.

A NEW Way of Getting Around !!

We have some of the most precious babies in Spanish church and THIS one is ONE of them !! He has a very unique way of getting where he wants to go! Several of us have commented about his mommy not having to worry about him wearing out the knees in his pants !!! Thought you all would get a kick out of seeing him!
