A New Favorite !

About a month ago I was reminded by Linda how good no bake cookies were.
I hadn't had them or made them in YEARS !!!
They are one of those cookies that most of the time you have everything you need to make them in your cupboard.
And they only take a few minutes. I LOVE these cookies for their convenience. ( And they taste pretty good too.)
I made them then and have been making them ever since. Even made them for the Our Time conference.

OUR TIME

Thursday and Friday was our annual "Our Time" Youth Conference. We are praising God for blessing us in so many ways. There were between 400-500 in attendance from 11 different states. We had six young preaches and three singers that are all under 30 yrs. old. They believe that it is THEIR time to step up to the plate and SERVE God as the majority of our preachers and missionaries are getting older. They are praying for young people answer the God's call on their lives,as young Samuel did" Here am I ,Lord". This year we honored our military and our great land of America. Several videos were played of our soldiers both past and present sharing how their faith in God helped them to make it through the hard times as they were fighting for our freedoms. There were many decisions made and at least 4 accepted Christ as their personal Saviour.

Fireworks

Last night after the service we went out to Preacher's for food and fireworks. I haven't had a chance to really figure out how to photograph fireworks with my good camera so I figured I'd just see how they would turn out. As the fireworks progressed I kept seeing this incredible silhouette of the trees and the reflection on the water so started shooting that instead of in there air. I thought it was just so beautiful! Will post the real "OUR TIME" pictures tomorrow. For now just these fireworks pictures.

Happy Birthday, Nate!

Thirty four years ago this morning God gave us an 8 lb. little miracle!
NOW he is MUCH bigger and such a joy.He grew up loving and respecting us. Married God's will for his life, gave us two precious grandsons and is STILL loving and respecting his parents. He is a hard worker, a wonderful husband and father. He is always willing to help his dad here at home and around the church. He's a great blessing to our lives ! We pray that God continues to work in his life each day as he serves Him.
Love you, Nathan Mark !!!

A Bitter Sweet Day

Funerals are always a difficult time, and yesterday was no exception. Cheri and I have been friends for over forty years(which is SO hard for us to believe!) We were roommates in college and she was my maid of honor at my wedding, after being friends since Jr high. She and her husband, Charlie live in Ventura, California. Cheri's dad went to be with the Lord last week and the memorial services were yesterday. I drove up to be there and it was such a precious time.We met at the funeral home for the services then drove to the Veteran's cemetary in Van Meter. After the service at the cemetary we all went to the Machine Shed Resturant for dinner and sweet fellowship with the family. Thank you folks for including me in your day.Your family is in our prayers.

Friends are Friends, Forever !!

What am I doing on a rainy spring day??

Going down memory lane!
With Myron's dad's 95th birthday party less than a month away, going through pictures for the 150th anniversary of my home church , AND with reconnecting with so many people from all the places we have lived the almost 36 yrs we have been married on Facebook, I started going through my THIRTY photo albums and a BIG box of loose pictures.
What TREASURES I have found !!! ( You FB buddies, watch out !!! I have found a lot of great pictures I will be scanning in the near future.)

I have had a pretty sentimental journey, seeing those loved ones, that are now in Heaven. Ran across a couple of pictures of our little Charity( today would have been her 35th birthday) and just so many that I would love to sit down and visit with.
Just think.... For those of us that have accepted Christ as personal Saviour,
We will have ALL eternity to do just that !!!!

Happy 95th Birthday !!!

Today is my father in law's 95th Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Dad!!
I can't even imagine all the changes he has seen in his lifetime. Some good, some NOT so good.
His mind is still very sharp and we all enjoy hearing the stories he shares about his life and his memories.
I praise God for the father that taught my husband how to love our Lord, Work hard, Do right
and provide for his family.

This is the youngest picture we could find .
This is His oldest sister Ruth, and oldest brother John,
and Dad is in the middle.

This was back when Myron, Nadine and I took the grandkids out to the farm.
This is "Old Blue", the truck Grandpa sold to Aaron.

Grandpa enjoying his family at Christmas

He has owned and ridden Harley's through his life.
He can really tell some stories about motorcyle trips he has taken.

Evening with the Kadings

Last night I spent the night with Lyle and Nadine. It was such a nice, relaxing evening.
It was the first time I had been out there since the turbines were put up. They are really neat.
Look close and you can see almost more than you can count.

Lyle HATES having his picture taken so you can imagine that I am in trouble EVERY time we are together. After 36+ yrs. he pretty much just "tolerates" me and my camera. :O)
This has pretty much become the regular position for Nadine. If she is sitting, she is working on her quilts. I think she said that she is working on FOUR right now !!! We enjoyed visiting and watched a movie too. Thanks for the good evening you guys !!!
