My Day with Ryan and Reed

Grandma got to stay with the boys today while Dad slept and Mom worked. We had a lot of fun. Mostly it was the "business at hand". School for Ryan and keeping Reed occupied. Then we did watch a movie when school was finished. BOY, do they have a lot of energy!
Starting the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance

Wrapped up in a blanket doing school

Waking up a little at a time

I had bought some great computer learning games at a garage sale several yrs ago
and because of the old computer Nate and Ten have,
the games didn't work so I took my laptop and Reed got to have "school" while Ryan did. He loved it!

Snow in OCTOBER ?!?!!?

Myron is a great one for saying" It is snowing!" then with a very long pause,he'll add "somewhere". Last night after church we had a chili supper. We were sitting enjoying our chili and he just casually said" Did you know it is snowing?" I then responded, "YES, SOMEWHERE" THEN he lowered the boom.... NO, OUTSIDE....IT IS SNOWING!
Here's the proof!

Spanish Nursery

Sunday afternooons I work in the Spanish nursery too.
I really enjoy these little ones,as much as I do our English babies.
This is Ruby (L)
We have had her since she was about a yr old.
Brianna(R) is our Spanish pastor's little one.

This little one has been coming off and on.
Her family is starting to become more faithful

The last few months we have needed to start having Spanish ladies help.
It has been such a blessing to get to know these ladies. This is Ruth. We have had her little girl in the nursery for a couple of yrs. She speaks as much ENGLISH as I do SPANISH.... A few words at BEST. I will admit, it is pretty hard to VISIT, but we do manage to communicate on the nursery "essentials". She is such a sweet lady !

Chloe

Nana has ANOTHER favorite ! :O)

Chloe is one of our nursery babies on Sunday morning.

Many of you know her parents, and her big sister Ashley.

She is just as cute as can be and has such a sweet personality

She wrinkles up her nose SO cute when she smiles!

A Rainy Fall Day

After having rain almost all day,I decided to go out and walk around.
The sun was trying to peek out just a little.

I love our view from the South (except for the cell tower..DON'T get me wrong!

I LOVE the cell tower. We had cell phones for THREE yrs. before we could use them at HOME!Just NOT in my pictures !!!)

Twins

This is Adrian and Anthony. They are our Spanish twins that we have in the nursery every Sunday afternoon. Last Sunday Anthony decided to play "King on the Brother". It must happen fairly often because Adrian took it in his stride! Like" Here we go AGAIN!" They have been coming since they were just a month old. We really do enjoy them!

Supper with the Hofferts

This is NOT a good picture of Aaron, but anyone that KNOWS Aaron
KNOWS he doesn't like to have his picture taken much.
This was at a resturant so that made it even worse BUT..
He did it for MOM!

Little Stella has turned four months
and is just as cute as ever (as reported by THIS Grandma!)

Grandpa FINALLY got to meet Stella
and says she is DEFINATELY a "keeper" !

Our Neighborhood is changing !!!

This is the house we lived in for 3 yrs. after moving to Iowa
I can't believe it but I have NO pictures of it where it sat until a couple of months ago!
The house is sold and will be moved, but has recently been moved to make way for the future!

Friday of last week this beautiful new home was placed on the basement,
where the old house stood. This shot is from the road,
the drive is in the lower right hand corner.
this view is from the West.
so you can get an idea what it looks like from that direction!

I am so excited for the owners!!! This has been a long time coming.

I WILL miss having them as close as we are now. BUT they are still Just up the road !!!

Hayride '08

What a beautiful evening we had last night ,
for our annual hayride at Preacher's! We had a really good turn out
and had so much fun...
...As you can see from these ladies
What a nice looking family! I can't remember the last time
Nate was able to be there!

Check out the SIZE of this frog!
a couple of the boys caught him

A very HOT fire for a warm night!

Please Pray ...

... For this Precious Lady!
My Pastor's wife,
My Mentor,
My example!
My FRIEND !!
I love this lady MORE than I can tell you and she needs our prayers!
A couple of weeks ago she was diagnosed with cancer. She has been on a roller coaster ever since. First it seemed VERY serious. Then the next report seemed VERY positive! THEN THE NEXT report, The one last Friday is that THERE IS MORE cancer..... Iowa City could not determine WHERE, BUT it's THERE FOR SURE! The good news is that because they can't locate it, it appears that WHEREEVER it is, it's in the early stages. God has worked a miracle and they are heading to Mayo Clinic in the Morning. Please share this with anyone that you know will pray. She and her family NEEDS our prayers during this time. Thank You!

Dianne was given this little "Cancer" bear for encouragement.

What a sweet gift!

Red Hat October Event

Saturday, October 11th the Red Hatters converged on
Coralridge mall, incognito. We just decided to be a group of ladies
going shopping and out to eat. We started with our favorite stores. We had
a very sweet Christina Boos waiting on us at CJ Banks! (Oh... a side line for you girls that made purchases...Chris said "Thank You"! She made her quota thanks to YOU !)
Notice the QUEEN of BARGINS has TWO bags of clothes
from her favorite store. I told her she will be
the best dressed lady at Ladies Spectacular this week!

Putting our feet up to relax

before hitting the stores again!

My ABSOLUTE favorite resturant was the next stop

And WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED !!!!!

After a little more shopping we headed to the coffee shop
and then on home....For everyone but me....
I headed to the Hay ride.... Another post....
