Wedding rehearsal

Susanna and Nathan are getting married today! Last night they had such a nice rehearsal supper before the rehearsal and I took just a few pictures....

Decorations were ready for the wedding.

Rehearsal always starts with prayer as the bride, groom,their fathers and Preacher kneel at the alter and pray for the rehearsal, wedding and their new lives together. Always my favorite part of a wedding rehearsal at our church!

Memorial Day, Myron was out trimming and moved a piece of metal left over from the remodel and he found 6 kitties almost a week old. We knew the momma had, had her babies just didn't know where. Then it got wet there the next week and she moved them. We had looked ALL over for them and couldn't find them anywhere. Monday we found them and figured she would keep them there until they were big enough to get out and play. This morning Myron opened the front door . THERE in front of the door were these six healthy beautiful kittens! We wondered why she had moved them again and sure enough.... there was water running from where they had been. Now we have them safe and sound AND dry!!!
Shock of all shocks though....two are Siamese! LOVE the BLUE eyes ! I called a neighbor and sure enough she had seen a Siamese not far from here a few weeks ago. What cuties !!!
NOW I will be boring you again THIS summer with cute little kitten pics !

Do any of you have a quiet, serious ( most of the time) husband that just has SO much on his mind that he doesn't cut up very often? I DO !!! AND... When I see him at THESE times I LOVE it, to the point that it almost brings tears to my eyes !
I was ready to take pictures of our church's rodeo yesterday and saw him talking to My "Wilma-Friend's Fiance', Dave and Jim Frier..... I started to just get a picture THEN Myron spotted me and my LONG lens pointed in his direction! I have NO idea where he got the balloon but he started playing "peek a boo" with the balloon so I couldn't get a picture of his face....When I see him hiding from me ( and my camera) it just makes me that much more determined to get the picture :O) These just make me laugh out loud !!!

A Fun Place to Visit

Yesterday, My Wilma-Friend and I made a trip to Iowa City.
On our way she told me she HAD to show a place that she had stumbled across a couple of weeks ago. We just HAD to take our cameras and get some pictures.
It was SUCH a fun place to look at all the signs and advertisements we had grown up with!
As we came up closer to the house, the owner was outside mowing and invited us to come take a closer look. We had to take a "rain check" since we were on a "mission" BUT one of these days we WILL go back and look more closely. It is just N. of West Chester Iowa!
You just NEVER know what you will find on the country roads of IOWA!

Memorial Day '11

Anyone that has read this blog for more than a year knows my mom's side of the family always has a big get together twice a yr. Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.
Thanksgiving is always at my folk's and then since we have so many coming from SE Iowa now, we have had Memorial Day down here for several yrs. This year Myron and I hosted the day.
We had 23 attending and the weather was great. It was pretty windy so most of us ate inside but the breeze kept it very comfortable with the temp in the high 80's. This year My cousin David's daughter has started playing clarinet so we were serenaded while we were eating.

This yr we had a special event in the afternoon. My only nephew, Ben is getting married in 25 days, so we had a family bridal shower for his sweet, bride to be, Cayla.
Sarah was in charge of the shower and Tenille and I took care of the food. We decorated with wedding pictures of the Grandparents, Great Grandparents and even one photo of one of GREAT, great Grandparents. It was such a nice time, very informal....and IF you look close you can see we had an eavesdropper in the living rm.... Ben interjected a few comments here and there ...AND was the object of a little teasing too !

Bird ,Blessing And Blooms

Have you ever had a time where you just NEEDED to have God show you that He IS RIGHT here, hearing you when you pray, just knowing that you are hurting and discouraged. It isn't a big thing and I feel almost "silly" for struggling with it, BUT it IS real ! Well, Monday and Tues. were those kind of days!!! I prayed and just asked God if he could please give me an Oriole.
What an amazingly loving and tender Heavenly Father we have!
Yesterday an oriole perched on my feeder right outside my window!
Today he has been here almost ALL morning!! Thank you, Lord for showing yourself to me in such a tangible way!

Also wanted to show you the beautiful new blooms I have on my plant that a friend gave me over a yr ago! It is really starting to bloom again!

"Deano" is getting better !

A good friend of ours had to have part of his leg taken off a few weeks ago. He was just moved this week from Iowa City to Burlington which is closer for me. I had to go to Burlington today so stopped in to check on him and his wife, Suz. She had just gotten back from a little "run" to Wendy's for a little "treat" for Dean. You can tell by the look on his face it was SOOOO good !
