Fresh Herbs

Tuesday a friend called me and asked me if I could use some fresh herbs. I was SO excited. I have just fallen in love with fresh herbs since starting to eat the way I have. I can't believe the difference in the flavor! I brought them home and dehydrated them so they will last a longer . Then if I want them "fresh" I just have to soak them for a short time to "REhydrate" them!
Here is the Oregano... Mmmmmmm..... Smells SO good !!!

Charity Is Going to Have a Baby !

Last night we had a shower for our assistant pastor's wife who is expecting a baby the last part of June. It was a great time with lots of fun food and fellowship.... Do we EVER do ANYTHING without those three ingredients???? Not often !

Mighty Mississippi

Yesterday I had to make a trip to Burlington and since it was such a beautiful day I decided to take a little extra time to "dip my feet in the mighty Mississip" :O)
Anyone that knows me knows that being near a body of water will make a day almost perfect !

Helpers

We have a the boys for a couple of days.
This morning, I decided I needed to get out and weed my flower bed that as you can tell has been VERY neglected.
It sure was nice to have such great help!
We didn't quite get it all done before it started raining BUT we got a good start !

Spring Ladies Meeting

For the past three years our church has had ladies meetings three or four times a year. This was a vision that our precious pastor's wife had made a reality. In January, Dianne, our pastor's wife went home to be with the Lord. The wives of our two assistant pastor's stepped up to continue Mrs. Brown's vision... Monday night was our first Ladies meeting since Dianne's death. It was a bitter/sweet meeting. I think all of us ladies from our church felt her absence and yet we were so happy to continue her dream and we KNOW she would have LOVED the meeting. It was so beautifully decorated... the games and skit were so much fun... music was great and the speaker.... WHAT do you say about JoJo Moffit.... She was in true form !! We laughed and cried at the same time! Oh, and the food.... DELICIOUS !!! What a wonderful evening. We had 125 ladies there from about 8-10 churches....

Sarah's Open House

Friday and Saturday was Sarah's Open House and I took lots of pictures ( imagine THAT !! :O) ) of the photographer taking pictures and interacting with her clients.... just a little glimpse at the photographer in action!

Sarah's New Studio

Our daughter, Sarah has been building her photography business little by little the last couple of years. The last several months it has really taken off and a month ago she rented a store front building in Riverside, Iowa. Last weekend was her grand opening . I had the privilege of helping her with the open house. It was so much fun seeing her interact with her clients and their children. This post is just the building... Next I will post some of her actual open house.

11 Kids, 6 Women, and 3 Dogs

A week ago yesterday I went to a "party" at Sarah's :O) Our friend Candace was home from Tenn. and we wanted to get a bunch of us together to visit, so Marion, with her four kids, Candace with her 3 kids, Tenille with her 2 kids, and Beth with her 2 boys met at Sarah's for a day of fun and fellowship! Considering how many kids there were it was a great day... Everyone played SO well together. Sarah's is the perfect place too. There was plenty of things to do. Swing sets, soccer, scavenger hunts, and the biggest hit of all the trampoline !!!!
